The Celtic Arts Foundation hosts their June Scottish Music Session on Sunday, September 7th from 3:00pm-5:00pm at Littlefield Celtic Center in Mount Vernon.

Join them for a community session featuring Scottish traditional music! Musicians from around the region gather at the Littlefield Celtic Center in Mount Vernon, WA. The focus of these sessions is predominantly Scottish music. Irish and other trad types of tunes are played regularly as well. This is an open session and anyone willing to follow our basic guidelines is invited to play. They look forward to seeing you there!

The next meeting of the Whatcom Genealogical Society is on Monday, September 8th at 2pm at the Pioneer Pavilion in Ferndale.

This month’s meeting is about sharing summer research results and reintroducing ourselves and our interests.  Did you have a research trip or family reunion this summer?  Maybe you are new to our group, and you have some questions about research. This is a great meeting to start off the Fall.  Visitors are always welcome

The Whatcom Genealogical Society meets the 2nd Monday of each month at 2pm,
except December, January, July, and August, at the Pioneer Pavilion, 2007 Cherry St., Ferndale, WA.  Doors open at 1:30pm.  There is plenty of free parking and no stairs to navigate.  Visitors are always welcome!  No experience in genealogy is necessary to join us.

Wild Things is an educational morning at a Bellingham Park, designed for kids 0-6 years old and their adults.  Wild Things takes place Fridays & Saturdays from 9:30am-11:00am.

From the Wild Whatcom website:
In September, we discover colors in leaves that have been hiding until just now, mysterious mushrooms popping up in unexpected places, perhaps even memories from your childhood triggered by the scents of autumn in the air. There is so much happening both under our feet and at the surface this time of year.

Program is FREE, but there is a suggested donation of $10 per person, $20 per family.

Sail with pirates… Encounter sea monsters… Explore shipwrecks…  “Tales of the Sea: An Unsubdued Revue” is at the New Prospect Theatre throughout the month of September!

See 11 nautical one-act plays that feature tales from local playwrights and actors in a range of styles from musicals to puppets.  These performances feature everything from comedy to drama to tales of horror.

Tales of the Sea is produced by the Unsubdued Theatre Collective and includes original pieces written by Riley Sweeney, Eva Nguyen, Danielle Phillips, Ky Weeks, Joan Prinz, Nika Roberts, Thatch Hobbes, Esme Dutcher, Crash Solo, Anica Johnston and Kyle Wong. Directors include Bryna Sweeney, Carol Makela, Hannah Cafarella, Margot Montgomery, and Alex Miller.

The next Fairhaven Sin & Gin Tour is Saturday, June 29th at 3:00pm.

Bellingham’s quaint south-side neighborhood was once called “the center of prostitution on Bellingham Bay.” This lovely shopping district started out as a wild west-style den of sin… full of brothels and saloons! Learn about the town whose founder was called “Dirty Dan.”  The tour lasts a little over one hour and covers under one mile in distance. More details available upon ticket purchase.

*Rated “mature” for mild adult content.  Tickets are $25 each.
