Sensory Indoor Recess

Mount Vernon Parks & Rec are hosting a Sensory Indoor Recess on Fridays from 2:00pm-4:00pm at Hillcrest Park in Mount Vernon.
This is a space designed for children and families that will benefit from a calmer environment. There will be hands-on toys, sensory tools, books, arts and crafts, and more. Kids will be welcome to explore these at their own pace.
The space is full enclosed, making it easier for caregivers of kids who tend to wander.

Imagine you’re on a hiking trip with friends near Mount Baker and you realize you are totally lost! Can you make it back safely? Robby Holmes of Mountainside Nature School will be leading this wilderness skills escape room and challenge you with puzzles, like map reading, animal skull and track ID, awareness skills, and more.

The Whatcom County Library System invites kids grades 6-12 to the Lynden Library on Friday, March13th from 5:45pm-7:45pm for an After-Hours Murder Mystery!
Kids can mingle with fellow attendees and discover clues to unmask the murderer. There are no assigned characters, but you’re welcome to dress for the theme (announced to registered participants shortly before the event).
Snacks and drinks provided! Registration is required for this after-hours program.
Bellingham Community Marimba Project Fundraiser

The Bellingham Community Marimba Project presents a fundraiser concert to benefit two non-profit organizations on March 13th from 6:30pm-9:00pm at Lost Giants Cider Company in Bellingham!
Enjoy an evening of music featuring the debut of Dandemutande, a fusion group started by WWU Music Graduate student and BCMP director, Caden Davis.
The music played at the event will be music taught to the players by their Zimbabwean musician friends and teachers. It’s high-energy and danceable, so you’ll be out of your seat having fun.

A synopsis of the show, provided by Those Brazen Wenches Theatre Company:
Sharon is recently divorced and needs a roommate to share her Iowa home. Robyn needs a place to hide and a chance to start over. But as Sharon begins to uncover Robyn’s secrets, they encourage her own deep-seated desire to transform her life completely.
“The Roommate” is a dark comedy about what it takes to re-route your life – and what happens when the wheels come off.
