Whatcom Museum “Art, Access, and Absinthe” Soiree

This year’s Whatcom Museum gala event will be on Friday, September 26th from 5pm-9pm at Chuckanut Bay Distillery in Bellingham!
You’ll be able to celebrate the enduring influence of French modernist visionaries like Auguste Renoir, Paul Cezanne, and Henri Matisse, whose works are on display at the Whatcom Museum.
This evening includes a VIP Absinthe Tasting from 5pm-6pm, the gala event with heavy appetizers, LIVE music, cocktails, and a silent auction from 6pm-9pm.

The last Saturday of every month is a great chance for father figures and kids to connect at the Children’s Museum of Skagit County!
You can drop-in and enjoy the museum from 9am-10am. After 10am, regular admission applies!

Wild Whatcom: Wild Things

Wild Things is an educational morning at a Bellingham Park, designed for kids 0-6 years old and their adults. Wild Things takes place Fridays & Saturdays from 9:30am-11:00am.

In September, we discover colors in leaves that have been hiding until just now, mysterious mushrooms popping up in unexpected places, perhaps even memories from your childhood triggered by the scents of autumn in the air. There is so much happening both under our feet and at the surface this time of year.
Program is FREE, but there is a suggested donation of $10 per person, $20 per family.
Bob Ames Field Dedication Luau

The Meridian School District is dedicating their football field in honor of legendary coach, Bob Ames, with a luau on Saturday, September 27th from 11am-1pm at Laurel Community Church!
Join this community celebration that will feature a pig roast, fish, side dishes, beverages, and a full program with entertainment in honor of Coach Ames.

Carmen Denson Foundation Hoedown

The Carmen Denson Foundation hosts their “Live Like Carmen Hoedown” on Saturday, September 27th at the Novella Venue on West Wiser Lake Road in Ferndale!
It’s a night of country fun with LIVE music from Whiplash Rodeo, line dancing lessons, a cornhole tournament, live and silent auction items, games, DJ Troy, and more.
Tickets are $75 and benefit the Carmen Denson Foundation, providing high school students in Whatcom County with scholarship opportunities.

Lynden Lions Club Model Train & Toy Show

The 40th Annual Lynden Lions Club Model Train & Toy Show is Saturday, October 4th from 9am-5pm & Sunday, October 5th from 10am-4pm at the Northwest Washington Fairgrounds in Lynden!
This year’s show features over 50,000 square feet of running model train layouts, exhibits, and vendors. Trains of all gauges for train buffs of all ages. Plus, the event will feature a number of toy vendors, as well.
Admission is $10 for adults, $8 for seniors, $5 for kids 6-12, and FREE for kids under 6. Families of up to six people get in for $25. All proceeds from the show benefit the Lions Club community projects in Lynden.
Improv Drop-In Class

The Upfront Theatre hosts an Improv Drop-In Class on Saturday, October 4th from 12pm-1pm.
If you’re curious about improv, show up and give it a try. Participants will experience how the tenets of improv can change your life. Classes are open to all ages and experience levels.
Cost is on a pay-what-you-can basis. Registration is not required but encouraged.
