Twin Sisters Mobile Market at the Library

The Twin Sisters Mobile Market will be at the North Fork Community Library in Maple Falls EVERY SATURDAY THROUGH OCTOBER 25th from 10am-3pm.
Twin Sisters Mobile Market is trying to build a more equitable in Whatcom County’s food insecure areas by offering hyper-local markets that adapt to the unique needs of each community. You’ll be able to get local produce, farm-fresh eggs, pasture-raised meats, flowers, and more.
2025 Trails to Taps Relay

The 2025 Trails to Taps Relay is set for Sunday, October 12th in Bellingham!
Get your team of 8 runners together and be ready to explore over 30 miles of trails, roads, and parks. Each transition spot is one of eight local breweries and cideries throughout Bellingham. Then, it all ends with an afterparty and a pint glass for participants!
Each leg length is between 3 miles and 6 miles. Costumes are encouraged. There will be a costume contest with the winner receiving merch from the local breweries and cideries.
REGISTRATION:
Early Bird Registration is $240 per team…beginning August 5th
After Early Bird Registration will be $280 per team.
This is a 21+ event. Proceeds benefit Lydia Place.
Whatcomics Submissions OPEN

The Whatcom County Library System is looking for teen artists!
Submit your work to be considered for publication in Whatcomics 2025, their teen art book. The rules are simple: live in Whatcom County, be a 6th-12th grader, and submit your original artwork on or before October 31, 2025. We encourage all artistic styles including drawing, painting, collage, comics and doodles. Because of copyright issues, no fan art, art made copying someone else’s design, or art based on other artists’ work is allowed.
It’s easy to submit: upload your artwork on our website at wcls.org/whatcomics or drop off your work at any public library. Accepted artists receive a copy of the book to keep. Works will be on display at the Lynden Public Library in January 2026.

Whatcom Tree Festival

This exciting weekend is full of events to connect with our wellness, the trees in our urban forests, and discover new ways to appreciate them and their health. You’ll find work parties, yoga workshops, arts & crafts, a cycling ride, and more.

Chuckanut Classic 2025

The Mount Baker Bicycle Club’s signature ride – The Chuckanut Classic – is Saturday, September 6th!
This ride starts and ends at the Portal Container Village on Bellingham’s waterfront and is one of the most scenic rides in Washington, with different routes to choose from 25 miles to the full 100 miles.
Choose the south loop and you’ll enjoy views of the San Juan Islands overlooking Bellingham, Samish, and Padilla Bays. There’s also stunning views of Chuckanut and Blanchard mountains.
The north loop gives spectacular views of Mount Baker, as well as the Canadian Cascades, Mount Shuksan, the Twin Sisters, Birch Bay, and Vancouver Island.
Proceeds will benefit Vamos Outdoors Project!

The Nooksack Salmon Enhancement Association invites you to be on the lookout for pink salmon returning to spawn at the Thompson Creek Bridge in Deming on Friday, August 22nd from 10am-2pm.
Pink salmon return every other year and NSEA staff will be on-site to answer questions, share facts, and help you spot salmon every Friday & Saturday from 10am-2pm from August 22-September 13.
