The Blaine Harbor Music Festival is July 13th-18th with six days of rehearsals, improv, workshops, and classes for students…PLUS FREE concerts for YOU!

Friday’s featured concert at 7:00pm at the Blaine Performing Arts Center features the amazing and talented students of the Blaine Harbor Music Festival that have been practicing and learning all week long!

The concert takes place at the G Street Plaza.  Come enjoy the music set against the amazing backdrop of the harbor and setting sun.

Walk the street market on Front Street between 6th & 7th Streets (and halfway up 7th Street) and shop local vendors and artisans.  There’s a Kids’ Zone, as well as nonprofit and commercial booths, in the 7th Street Parking Lot.

Hundreds of classic and specialty vehicles will line Front Street for you to check out.  Start at the corner of Front St. & 7th and walk along the route to see over 300 classic cars & trucks.

The event is FREE to enter and no pre-registration is required.  If you want to participate, arrive anytime between 6:00am-8:30am.

The day features sailing races for RS Quests, RS Teras and Lasers.  Skippers must have passed a Community Boating Center skill test.

10:00am–11:00am: Check-in and rigging
10:45am: Mandatory competitors meeting
11:30am: First warning signal
4:00pm: Last start
5:00pm: Awards ceremony

Check the Bellingham Dockside Market Facebook page, Instagram, or newsletter prior to sale days to see which fishermen will be at the dock and what products will be available.

Head down to Squalicum Harbor and follow the signs to the market where fishermen await with their product! We set up outside at Gate 5 from June through October and inside the Fishermen’s Pavilion (2599 S. Harbor Loop Drive) from November through May.

Pick your seafood, pay the fishermen directly, and head home with your delicious catch.

The Science of Gender & Resistance is for everyone! Are you an activist, ally, friend, or family member of a Queer person? This session will equip you to speak on the topic of gender and sexuality with clarity and confidence. Are you a member of the LGBTQIA+ community yourself? You’ll acquire new ways to explain what you’ve always innately known and, in exploring the neurobiology of “the other side,” you’ll gain perspectives that will help YOU stay focused & regulated when faced with difficult conversations.

Want to support transgender and nonbinary youth but worry about sticking your foot in your mouth? Have a gender diverse young person in your life who you want to better support?  Are you eager to build the knowledge, skills, and confidence necessary to effectively push back against misinformation and harmful policies impacting the lives of LGBTQ+ youth?  Join us for a 90-minute workshop to  step deeper into your role of making Ferndale a community where all young people can feel safe, valued, and welcome.

Want to learn about what LGBTQ+ youth need and want from their community? Come and listen as our panel of youth, parents, educators and advocates discuss how we as a community can support our LGBTQ+ youth to ensure their health, wellbeing, and safety in Ferndale.  Panel will be moderated by Page from Common Goodness Project.  All questions and discussion points have been created by the panelists, and there will not be an open Q and A.
