First, THANK YOU! I’m really inspired by the amount of people who want to move a mile a day. I wasn’t sure how many people we were going to get to do this challenge and I’m quite overwhelmed by everyone saying yes! Here’s the update to get you through the weekend…
Listen: Day 2, we ran for Nana Rosemary
Friday’s mile belonged to Nana Rosemary, a breast cancer survivor. This one is worth your four minutes — it includes a very special tribute to her from her grandson, who is serving in the Army.
Now, here’s who we’re moving for this weekend.
Saturday — Survivor Elaine
A stellar mom of four who never stopped finding a reason to laugh, even through the hardest of times.
Sunday — Survivor Cathy
Cathy is the mom of PNW Media Group’s own Scott Less, Program Director and afternoon host on our brother station KISM. And even though Cathy is a die-hard Broncos fan, we’ll still run a mile for her — and cheer for them to beat the Niners on Sunday in her honor.
Track your miles with the group
We’ve got a Run 31 group on Strava. It’s completely optional and purely for fun, but it’s a good way to watch everybody’s miles pile up all month and cheer each other on.

Sign up before Monday and we can still get you a shirt!
Thanks to a generous donation from Pacific Point Apparel. Anyone who signs up to participate by EOD Monday, you’ll get a Run31 shirt!
Did someone say new shoes?
Everyone who signed up is also in the running for a pair of Topo running shoes, courtesy of the fine folks at Fairhaven Runners. We’ll draw the winner at our finale on October 30. Go say thanks to them next time you’re in the shop.
Get out there this weekend
Run it, walk it, crawl it. Treadmill, trail, a lap around the block with the dog. Any pace, any time of day. One mile is one mile, and there’s no such thing as too slow.
And it’s never too late to join us. If you haven’t signed up yet, you can still jump in any day of the month.
We’re so grateful to every one of you for holding this space for the survivors, the fighters, and the ones we’ve lost. It matters more than you know.
Run for them. Get screened for you.
