ANACORTES, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A new and improved spring sailing schedule takes effect on Sunday, March 23 for the Anacortes and San Juan ferries.

The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) announced new seasonal schedules for the route last year, which hadn’t been updated in over a decade.

The agency says the outdated schedules had become unreliable and even caused ferries to arrive late in many cases.

But WSDOT says the route’s updated winter schedule marked a dramatic improvement, as the number of ferries that arrived on time grew from roughly 68% to 91%.

The updated spring schedule will be in effect through June 14.

You can view the new schedule times at the WSDOT website.
