Winter weather shelters open this week in Whatcom County

WHATCOM COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Cooler temperatures have prompted local warming shelters to open their doors for the next few days.

Bellingham’s overnight severe weather shelter on North Forest Street will be open for guests on Tuesday, Feb. 10 and Wednesday, Feb. 11.

Check-in runs from 4-8 p.m., with check-out at 8 a.m. the following morning.

The city’s daytime warming shelter at the old Lighthouse Mission Drop-In Center will open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. tomorrow and Thursday.

Further north, Ferndale’s severe weather shelter will be open Tuesday through Saturday night.

The Lighthouse Mission will continue to welcome guests daily, with check-in at 7 p.m. and check-out the following morning at 8 a.m.
