WHATCOM COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – We’ve got some gusty winds in the forecast before the weather starts to clear up later in the week.

The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for western Whatcom and Skagit counties from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, March 23.

Southerly winds could reach 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph, along with some rain showers. Forecasters warn that fallen tree limbs could cause some power outages.

Meanwhile, the threat of flooding seems to be over, as the Nooksack and Skagit rivers are both expected to remain well below the action stage after rising last week.

Conditions are expected to dry and warm up through the end of the week, even approaching a high of 60 degrees in Bellingham by Friday, March 27.
