WHATCOM COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Want to learn more about how local government operates?

Whatcom County has announced its second annual Open House event will take place on Sept. 30.

The free event will feature opportunities to learn about the new jail and the county’s budget process. Elected officials and county staff will also be on hand to answer questions and speak about upcoming projects and initiatives.

The Open House is free and will run from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Whatcom County Courthouse.

For those who are itching to get a look at the county’s legal system, Court Education Day will be held this Friday from 1 to 5 p.m.
