BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Three men have been sentenced for their role in a multi-county theft ring.

Court documents state that all three pled guilty last week to one charge each of possessing stolen property.

Bellingham Police were tipped off to the group’s activities in February after a couple reported their home was burglarized.

Detectives worked with law enforcement agencies in Snohomish County and learned the group had been specifically targeting Asian families in western Washington.

Following a surveillance operation that connected the men to an Anacortes burglary, four suspects were arrested near the end of February.

Daniel Sanchez Castillo was released from custody on Friday, Aug. 22 for time served, while Kenver Cortes Romero was transferred to Skagit County Monday, Aug. 24 to face charges in a separate case.

A third man, identified as 45-year-old Jefren Moreno Godoy, was taken into custody by the FBI Tuesday on a criminal hold.

The fourth suspect has not yet entered a plea on any of the charges.
