WHATCOM COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Hotter, drier weather is moving into Whatcom County this weekend to replace the rain we had earlier in the week.
The National Weather Service in Seattle says a warming trend will begin this weekend and extend into early next week.
Temperatures will peak on Sunday and Monday, rising to as high as 87 degrees on both days.
That warmer weather will pose a moderate heat risk to the public in western Whatcom County and the San Juans on Sunday and Monday.
Forecasters also say there will be heightened concerns over fire weather on Monday with rising humidity, especially in the mountains.
They’re advising anyone who’s sensitive to the heat to avoid overexertion and stay hydrated.
