WHATCOM COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A wet couple of days are coming our way as a series of rare summer storms flow into our area.
The National Weather Service in Seattle says we can expect rain to begin on Thursday night and continue off and on through Saturday.
Total rainfall over the two days could exceed 2″ in the region.
South-southeast winds are expected to pick up on Friday afternoon as well, with gusts of 30 to 35 mph in Bellingham.
Whatcom County Emergency Management says residents should be prepared for possible localized flooding and ponding in streets and roadways.
