WHATCOM COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Summer weather returns in full force for our region this weekend.

The National Weather Service in Seattle says a heat advisory will be in effect for western Whatcom and Skagit Counties starting at 11 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 22.

Temperatures are expected to climb into the mid- to upper 80’s in Bellingham and Ferndale through Tuesday of next week.

Lynden and Deming could see temperatures peak in the 90s during this time.

Those who are susceptible to heat-related illnesses are being advised to stay hydrated and out of the sun if possible.

Anyone working outdoors should take shade breaks and limit any strenuous activities to cooler hours, such as the early morning or evening.
