Two people sentenced in connection to fatal shooting in Mount Vernon

MOUNT VERNON, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Two people have been sentenced in connection to the fatal shooting of a Mount Vernon man earlier this year.

Mount Vernon Police say 17-year-old Jesus Angel will spend 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to second-degree murder.

23-year-old Robert Lozano was sentenced to four and a half years in prison after pleading guilty to unlawful firearm possession and rendering criminal assistance.

My Bellingham Now previously reported that the shooting took place near a gas station across from Skagit Valley College on March 17.

An 18-year-old man was taken to Harborview Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries.
