Two killed in fiery Laurel crash

LAUREL, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Two people were killed in a fiery overnight crash in Laurel.

Whatcom County Sheriff’s spokesperson Deb Slater said the accident occurred just before midnight on W Axton Rd.

One of the cars burst into flames after colliding with the other.

Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene.

W Axton Rd was closed between the Guide Meridian and Aldrich Rd for several hours as crews assessed damage to the road.

This marks the second fatal crash on W Axton Rd in less than a week. The suspect in the previous incident will be appearing in court later Tuesday, May 19 on separate charges.
