Seahawks News

The Seahawks are licking their wounds from a tight loss yesterday as they head into a short week.

Seattle fell to the San Francisco 49ers 32-29 to fall to 3-2 on the season.

Jaxon-Smith Njigba had 102 receiving yards and a touchdown, but dropped a critical pass late in the game that would have set the Seahawks up for the game-tying field goal. Cooper Kupp’s last-ditch effort at a first down fell just short and the 49ers improved to 5-0 as one of three remaining undefeated teams left in the NFL.

Turnovers plagued the Hawks, who coughed the ball up four times, including two interceptions by Sam Darnold.

49ers linebacker Dre Greenlaw was ejected from the game after headbutting a helmetless Ernest Jones on the Seahawks sideline and the league announced earlier today that Greenlaw will be suspended one game for the act.

The Seahawks are back in action on Thursday, when they face the Broncos in Denver to open Week 6 play in the NFL. But first, Week 5 is wrapping up tonight with a heavyweight primetime matchup.

The Seahawks’ division rival Rams are hosting the Bills on Monday Night Football, as LA looks to improve on their 2-2 start to the season. Coverage begins at 4:00 and kickoff 5:15 on KPUG.

Meanwhile, the Cougs’ struggles continued in a 17-16 loss to Utah State, as Wazzu dropped to 1-5 on the season.
