During the winter months in Washington, families around the state turn their heaters on to stay warm from the frigid temperatures outside.

Many of these heating systems are powered by natural gas; this is something that the state of Washington is actively trying to change.

In 2022, Washington State legislature voted to halt future installation of natural gas heating systems and instead allow electric heat pumps to be installed in new buildings around the state. The new regulations were created to limit the amount of fossil fuels burned in the state, moving heating systems to be powered by clean energy.

Heating and air conditioning companies, like Feller Heating, have had to adapt to not just regulation changes but also technological changes inside the industry. For over 45 years, Feller Heating has worked tirelessly to inform the public about these changes and how they affect their home’s heating and air systems.

“We’re able to clearly decipher the different options and teach the customer as well,” said Phillip Dye, residential estimator and project manager at Feller Heating. “There are a handful of options out there, but it’s about making sure they know the difference between them and how it works for them.”

Being able to teach the customers about the product they are looking to install is something that Feller Heating prides themselves on. Whether it’s maintenance on an existing gas-powered heating system or a purchase of a new electric heating system, Feller Heating is here to make the customer experience easier than ever.
