SKAGIT COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – An organization in Skagit County is asking for help following an untimely theft.

The Humane Society of Skagit Valley said that someone stole their shelter van’s catalytic converter and damaged its exhaust pipes earlier this week.

Executive Director Janine Seja tells My Bellingham Now that the theft forced them to make last-minute adjustments for a scheduled delivery to Yakima.

Some repair costs are being covered by a generous donation from Cascade Auto and Marine, but Seja estimates that they’ll need about $1,300 to get the van back on the road.

Anyone interested in donating can do so through the Humane Society of Skagit Valley’s website.

Seja says they’ll also gratefully accept donations of cat and dog food.
