WHATCOM COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – There are many resources available to support victims of the historic flooding we’ve seen this week.

The Whatcom Long Term Recovery Group is asking anyone who’s been affected by the floods to fill out a help request form on their website.

The group is hosting community cleanups at the Valley Church in Nooksack until 5 pm on Friday and again at the Sumas Advent Christian Church from 8 am to 5 pm on Saturday, Dec. 12, assuming the town is accessible. To learn more, volunteer or donate to those affected by the floods, you can visit whatcomstrong.com.

Those who’ve been affected by the floods or who want to volunteer can also call the Whatcom County Flood Call Center at 360-788-5303. Anyone seeking emergency shelter due to the floods can fill out a form on the county’s website.

Whatcom County Health and Community Services is urging anyone in need of emotional support to call or text the 24/7 Disaster Distress Hotline at 1-800-985-5990.

Meanwhile, Brio Laundry is offering free laundry for a week to anyone whose home was affected by the flooding. They’re handing out flood relief laundry cards at both of their locations in Bellingham and Lynden.

In Skagit County, the Skagit Community Foundation and United Way of Skagit County have each activated their Disaster Relief Fund for those able to donate.

For those in need of a hot meal during their evacuation, Sahara Pizza is offering free meals at their Mount Vernon and Stanwood locations.

For anyone in need of emergency storage, Lynden-based Get Simple Box is offering free delivery on rental containers for flood-impacted households, farms, nonprofits, and response crews in Whatcom and Skagit counties.
