According to the county auditor, just over 31% of registered voters turned out for the August primary.

Elizabeth Boyle and Maya Morales will vie for the county council’s District 2 seat in the general election on Nov. 4.

Kyle Christensen, the former mayor of Sumas, will face off against Jessica Rienstra for the council’s District 3 seat after incumbent Tyler Byrd was ousted in the voting.

Both levies for the rural library district and South Whatcom Fire Authority passed convincingly.

Ballots for the November general election will be mailed out on Oct. 15.
