SEATTLE, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Tuesday night’s presidential debate wasn’t the only fiery debate aired in Washington state.

Gubernatorial candidate Dave Reichert debated fellow candidate AG Bob Ferguson for an hour directly after the presidential debate. Amid barbed comments from Ferguson, Reichert made a surprise announcement at the beginning of the debate.

“I hate to disappoint you Bob, but I am not supporting Mr. Trump. I am making that announcement tonight,” Reichert said. “I am also not supporting Mrs. Harris.”

Ferguson spent a good portion of the evening pointing out Reichert’s history of supporting former President Donald Trump’s policies, directing viewers to a website called ReichertRevealed.com. The site has clips of audio and video where Reichert voices comments that the site deems as so-called MAGA.

Reichert said he only supports some – but not all – of Trump’s policies during the debate. Reichert rebutted Ferguson’s attacks with repeatedly pointing out higher crime rates under Gov. Inslee’s administration.

Trump said on his social media platform Truth Social Thursday, Sept. 12 that he will not participate in any more presidential debates.
