WHATCOM COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – More aid is on its way for local residents who were affected by December’s historic flooding.

The American Red Cross is heading to Whatcom and Skagit counties in the coming days.

Their first stop is in Everson, where volunteers will be helping with financial aid applications to anyone whose home was heavily damaged or destroyed in the flood.

It takes place at Fire District 1’s Station 81 on Main Street from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 21 and Wednesday, April 22.

Red Cross will also be at a retail site next to Backspins sports bar in Sedro Woolley from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. next Thursday through Saturday.

The organization is reaching out to eligible households, but anyone who didn’t receive a message and believes they may qualify can contact Red Cross or visit one of next week’s meetings.

Red Cross says its services are available regardless of immigration status.
