Kraken News

The Kraken are back at home tonight.

They’re playing the Detroit Red Wings in the first of a four-game stand at Climate Pledge.

Seattle’s coming off a successful road trip that saw them win three out of five matches and earn points in four of them. They currently own the third-best record in the Pacific Division, while the struggling Red Wings own the worst record in the Atlantic Division.

The Kraken will aim to continue their dominance over the Wings tonight, having won last week’s meeting 6-3 in Detroit.

Coverage begins at 6:00 and puck drops at 6:40 on KPUG.

NFL News

The Seahawks’ division rivals stayed perfect last night.

The 49ers beat the Commanders 23-17 on Monday Night Football to cap off Week 6 of the NFL season.

MVP frontrunner Brock Purdy threw for 264 yards with one touchdown to help the Niners improve to 6-0 as one of three undefeated teams left in the league. Christian McCaffrey added two touchdowns as San Francisco moved three games ahead of Seattle for the NFC West lead.

The Seahawks have a chance to dethrone one of the other undefeated teams this weekend, when they host the 5-0 Chiefs on Sunday Night Football in Kenneth Walker’s return to Seattle.

MLB Playoffs News

The World Series is officially set.

The Rays beat the Guardians 7-3 in Game 6 of the ALCS last night to book their ticket to the Fall Classic. There, they’ll meet the Brewers in a matchup between teams that have never won a World Series, which is only the second time that’s happened in the last hundred years.

It’s a fitting finale to the MLB season, after Tampa Bay and Milwaukee each finished with the best regular season records in their respective leagues.

Game 1 starts at 5:00 on Friday night from Milwaukee.

NBA News

As the baseball season winds down, the men’s basketball season is just starting up.

The NBA is tipping off today with a trio of marquee matchups. The Detroit Pistons host the Boston Celtics and the defending champion New York Knicks host their rival Philadelphia 76ers.

The night caps off with a meeting of Western Conference powerhouses, when Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs host defending MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and the Oklahoma City Thunder at 6:30.

WNBA News

Meanwhile, the WNBA Finals are heating up.

The Atlanta Dream beat the Golden State Valkyries 79-65 last night to even up the series at one game apiece.

Defensive Player of the Year Angel Reese came up big with 30 points and 16 rebounds for the Dream. Former Storm star Gabby Williams led the Valkyries with 14.

The series now shifts to Atlanta, where the Dream will host at the Atlanta Hawks’ State Farm Arena rather than their current home venue to accommodate thousands more fans

Game 3 tips off at 5:00 tomorrow night.
