BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – It is forecast to be another gorgeous summer weekend in Whatcom County and that means more festivals, car shows, live music and opportunities to enjoy the great outdoors. We have it all for you in this week’s Lifestyle Lookout.
The Northwest Raspberry Festival is on Friday, July 17 and Saturday, July 18 in downtown Lynden. The iconic festival features a 3-on-3 basketball tournament, the Razz and Shine Car Show, raspberry farm tours and live music and entertainment.
Organizers will fill the streets with basketball courts so attendees can watch teams of all ages compete in the Curt Maberry Memorial Classic. Meanwhile, Front St. will be lined with classic cars, hot rods and vintage vehicles of all makes and models.
The Raspberry Festival also features a beer garden, a pancake breakfast, a salmon BBQ and plenty of delicious treats.
Bellingham celebrated Pride last weekend and now it is Ferndale’s turn. The 2nd annual Ferndale PRIDE is on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Pioneer Pavilion Park.
There will be a Pride colors costume contest and a family-friendly drag show starting at 11:30 a.m. Workshops tackling topics like the science of gender and supporting trans youth will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Also, a FUN fair will feature vendors, nonprofits and more.
If you are looking for a great opportunity to explore one of Bellingham’s quirkiest neighborhoods, you are in luck.
Sunnyland Stomp is on Saturday from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. This celebration of creativity allows attendees to check out homes and businesses and features games, art, activities, music, garden parties and more.
Our featured live show this week is a two-day rock festival in Fairhaven. Fourth Corner Punk Fest is this Saturday and Sunday at EVIL Bikes (700 Harris Ave.)
This multi-stage festival features national, regional and local punk bands, vendors, flash tattoos, mohawks, skateboards and more. There will also be a beer garden and food trucks to keep the crowd upright and attentive all weekend long.
This year’s headliners include Bouncing Souls, Pennywise, Suicide Machines and The Vandals.
