Updated results from the 2025 Whatcom County General Election are in

BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Results are in following another round of local elections in Whatcom County and across the state.

Below is a list of local results provided by the Whatcom County Auditor’s Office as of Nov. 6. For all of the results, click here.

Statewide

Washington State Senate Joint Resolution No. 8201 is currently passing with over 61% of the vote in favor.

Whatcom County propositions

Proposition No. 1, Authorizing Councilmembers to Hire Dedicated Aides, has a 62.82% vote of rejection.

Proposition No. 2, Establishing a Whatcom County Office of the Ombuds, has a 52.9% vote of rejection.

Proposition No. 3, Establishing Performance Audits, has 85.36% approval.

Proposition No. 4, Clarifying the Power and Duties of Elected Officials, has 92.17% approval.

Proposition No. 5, Modifying the Redistricting Process, has 79.28% approval.

Proposition No. 6, Adjusting the Calculation of Signatures Required for a Referendum, has 53.15% rejection.

Proposition No. 7, Prohibiting County Government from Interfering with Initiatives and Charter Amendments, has 60.8% approval.

Proposition No. 8, Modifying the Budget Process, has 93.42% approval.

Proposition No. 9, Adding Accountability to Financial Reporting Requirements, has 93.38% approval.

Proposition No. 10, Determining Initial Rules for the Charter Review Commission Meetings, has 84.14% approval.

Proposition No. 11, Adjusting the Calculation of Signatures Required for a Charter Amendment, has 59.05% rejection.

Proposition No. 12, Requiring Land Supply and Construction Cost Analysis, has 86.97% approval.

Whatcom County Council

Kaylee Galloway ran unopposed for County Council District 1.

Elizabeth Boyle leads Maya Morales with just over 71% of the vote for County Council District 2.

Jessica Rienstra and Kyle Christensen are going for County Council District 3, with Rienstra taking over 56% of the vote.

Barry Buchanan has received over 63% of the vote against Misty Flowers for Council At-Large Position A.

Port of Bellingham

Proposition 2025-04, which covers the growth of the Port Commission from three members to five, is currently passing with almost 65% of the vote in approval.

For Port of Bellingham Commissioner District 1, Michael Alvarez Shepard ran unopposed.

In the race for Commissioner District 2, Carly James has beat Ken Bell with 50.94% of the votes.

City of Bellingham

Initiative 25-03, Prohibiting Landlords from Interfering with Tenants Engaged in Protected Activities, is currently passing with over 73% of the votes in approval.

For Municipal Court Judge, Debra Lev ran unopposed.

For Bellingham City Council Ward 2, Hollie Huthman has over 64% of the vote, with Leah Wainman at around 35%.

Skip Williams is currently ahead of Kerri Burnside with just over 62% of the vote for Ward 4.

Michael Lilliquist has around 58% of the vote for Ward 6 ahead of Andrew Reding with around 40%.

Jace Cotton ran unopposed for City Council At-Large.

Bellingham School Districts

Proposition 2025-05 Supplemental Operations Levy for District 501 is currently passing with over 68% of the vote in favor.

Proposition 2025-06 Facilities Maintenance Levy for District 501 is also passing with over 64% of the vote in favor.

Jenn Mason currently has over 76% of the vote for District 501 Director Position 4 over Corinne Thorsen.

For Director Position 5, Douglas W. Benjamin ran unopposed.
