BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A part of Bellingham’s Graffiti Rock may have a place in your life.

WSDOT said that they’ll be giving away over 1,000 pieces of the famed 100-ton rock at Civic Stadium on Saturday, July 11.

My Bellingham Now previously reported that the rock needed to be moved because it was in the way of an ongoing fish passage project.

Initial plans to break apart the rock into large enough chunks for public display fell apart after the intended implosion crushed the giant boulder into much smaller pieces.

Pieces of the rock will be handed out between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. or until all the pieces are gone.

Anyone interested in claiming a chunk of the Graffiti Rock must submit an online waiver no later than July 10.
