BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Hundreds of positions at PeaceHealth are set to be cut later this year, including dozens in Bellingham.

That’s according to documents submitted on Tuesday, Oct. 28 to the state’s Employment Security Department.

241 total positions will be eliminated in Washington and Oregon as of Dec. 27.

Those include 56 employees at PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center in Bellingham.

Another five positions are being axed in Sedro-Woolley.

Impacted roles include supply chain specialists, informaticists and some administrative services.

PeaceHealth’s Chief Human Resources Officer added that relevant unions have been contacted, and the final number of layoffs could depend on union action.
