OLYMPIA, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – The Washington State Public Disclosure Commission (PDC) has launched a formal investigation into Let’s Go Washington.

The investigation was opened on Wednesday, Aug. 12, coinciding with an initial hearing of a complaint that was filed with the PDC in May.

The complaint, filed by government watchdog organization Washingtonians for Ethical Government, alleges that LGW failed to disclose political advertising from right-wing influencer Brandi Kruse. It alleges at least 159 instances of political advertising were made by Kruse, costing LGW between $345,000 and $1.25 million.

In a response to the complaint, LGW founder Brian Heywood’s lawyer denied that the group had paid Kruse for services of any kind.

The PDC announced it will gather documents, interview witnesses and potentially subpoena records in an effort to enforce Washington’s Fair Campaign Practices Act.
