BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – The Bellingham Technical College Foundation announced on Thursday that it has awarded a record-setting $1,422,000 in scholarships for the 2025-2026 school year.

Nearly 600 students are set to receive an average of $2,400 each. That’s around 80% of all students who applied.

Last year’s record was beaten by nearly 100 more students and $300,000.

“Many lives will be changed for the better because of the generosity of our donors,” said Dean Fulton, Director of the BTC Foundation. “Our graduates become important and productive members of our community; they maintain our furnaces, tend to the sick, repair our automobiles, install and repair our electrical systems, clean our teeth, heal our beloved pets, and so much more.”

BTC research shows students who receive scholarships are 20% more likely to continue their education at the college between their first and second years.

Students who receive scholarships are also 40% more likely to graduate compared to students who don’t.

Bellingham Technical College offers more than 50 associate degrees, over 30 certificate options and a Bachelor of Applied Science degree.
