Sonics fans just got their biggest update since the team was relocated out of Seattle.
NBA commissioner Adam Silver announced yesterday that the league will make a decision on whether it will expand sometime in 2026. He went on to name Seattle and Las Vegas as two locations that the league has been looking at.
The topic of expansion has been lingering for five years, since Silver first acknowledged the possibility in a news conference ahead of the 2020-21 season. But yesterday marks the first time that he’s announced a timeline for the decision to be made.
Kraken News
The Kraken are hitting the road as their recent woes continued last night at Climate Pledge.
Seattle fell to the Colorado Avalanche 5-3 for their third straight loss and ninth in ten games.
The Kraken broke out for three goals in the second period to take a 3-2 lead, but Colorado’s Nathan MacKinnon scored twice in the third to lead the comeback win. He now leads the NHL with 28 goals on the season to help the Avalanche build on their best record in the league.
Meanwhile, the Kraken now sit just one point ahead of the league-worst Vancouver Canucks. They’ll look to rebound up North tomorrow night when they take on the Calgary Flames in the first leg of their four-game road trip.

The Seahawks are gearing up for their biggest game of the season tomorrow night.
Seattle’s hosting the Los Angeles Rams on Thursday Night Football in a battle for the No. 1 seed in the NFC. The two teams own the best record in both the conference and the NFC West Division at 11-3.
The Hawks will look to avenge their tight 2-point loss to the Rams earlier this season at So-Fi.
Meanwhile, the Rams are awaiting news on star receiver Davantae Adams, who suffered a hamstring injury in their win over Detroit on Sunday. He’s expected to be a game-time decision.

The NFL Draft could be coming to Seattle.
The Puget Sound Business Journal reports that the Seattle Sports Commission is aiming to host the draft sometime between 2028 and 2030, though it has yet to enter the formal bid stage.
Last year’s draft in Green Bay drew an estimated 600,000 people over the three-day event, and the 2024 draft in Detroit drew a record 775,000.
Several other cities have been reported to express interest in hosting, including Buffalo, Charlotte, Minneapolis and Houston. Seattle has never hosted the draft before.

The Nooksack Valley girls rallied from a double-digit deficit to beat Mount Vernon 64-62.
The Mount Vernon boys got revenge with a 71-66 win over Nooksack.
The Sehome girls beat Mount Baker 44-33.
The Sehome boys added a 74-37 win over Baker.
The Squalicum girls doubled up Meridian 44-22.
The Lummi boys blew by Shoreline Christian 84-32.
And the Lummi girls crushed Shoreline Christian 73-10.
