NOOKSACK, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – The City of Nooksack is officially under new leadership.

The city council appointed former councilmember Marshall Judy as mayor at their meeting on July 20.

Judy succeeds Kevin Hester, who passed away in June following a battle with cancer.

The council honored Hester at the meeting with a resolution recognizing his many years of public service to the community, including over four years as mayor.

Judy’s term will end following the 2027 general election.

The city is also in the process of finding someone to replace his seat on the council.
