New exhibit highlights talent of Ferndale art students

FERNDALE, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – The creative talent of young local artists will be on full display this month in Ferndale.

It’s About Time Cultural Arts Center is showcasing artwork from students at Cascadia Elementary, Horizon and Vista Middle Schools, and Ferndale High School.  The show, titled Emerging Young Artists of Ferndale, opens Thursday, May 14 and runs through May 28.

Art teachers at the participating schools challenged students with themes like pop art, minimalism, imagination, and identity through symbolism.

A special opening day event runs from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.

It’s About Time Cultural Arts Center (2013 Main St.) is open from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursdays and noon to 6 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.
