Mariners News

The Mariners are embarking on their biggest road trips of the season to date.

They’re opening a four-game series against the Texas Rangers tonight with the division lead at stake. The M’s currently sit just a half a game behind the Rangers for first place in the American League West.

Bryce Miller is on the mound as Seattle looks to avoid their third straight loss.

First pitch is at 5:05 on KPUG.

Seahawks News

The Seahawks begin their official preparation for the upcoming season this weekend.

Tomorrow is the first day of training camp for the defending Super Bowl champs. Fans are able to catch the team’s practices, which run through August 13 in Renton.

There will be plenty of cameras around, with HBO filming for their annual “Hard Knocks” series.

The first episode comes out on Tuesday, Aug. 4.

NBA News

One of the greatest basketball players of all time has chosen his final stop.

LeBron James announced today that he’s signing with the Philadelphia 76ers in what will be the last team of his playing career. The NBA’s all-time leading scorer is signing a two-year, $8 million contract with a player option.

James says he was seriously considering retirement after last season, but will now aim to end a 43-year championship drought for the 76ers.

The 41-year-old is entering his record 24th season in the league.

Sounders/Reign News

The Sounders are aiming to snap their recent skid tomorrow.

They’re playing on the road against the Philadelphia Union.

Seattle has lost four straight dating back to before the World Cup, having managed just two goals over that span. They’ll be without All-Star center back Jackson Ragen, who will miss their next two games after receiving two yellow cards against Austin on Wednesday.

Tomorrow’s match starts at 4:30.

Meanwhile, the Reign are taking the pitch in San Diego on Sunday.

Bells News

The Bells are in Wenatchee this weekend for a three-game series against the AppleSox.

Bellingham’s coming off a series win over the Kelowna Falcons that ended with a dominant 10-0 showing on Wednesday. Their pitching has been stellar lately, throwing two shutouts in their past four games.

Meanwhile, Wenatchee has been the top team in the West Coast League this season, they’ve won 12 of their 15 games in the second half.

First pitch for tonight’s game is at 6:35. The Bells will return home next Friday against Victoria.
