MOUNT BAKER, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Crews at the Mount Baker Ski Area are gearing up for a potentially historic snow season.

General Manager Mike Trowbridge and President Evan Haskell say that Any Day season passes go on sale Saturday, Oct. 3 at 7 a.m. An online waiting room will open to the public at 6 a.m.

Trowbridge in a video posted to their ski area’s website said that lookin at their snowfall numbers from previous “Super El NiƱo” seasons provided indicators they may have hundreds of inches of snow this season.

Road preparation is also planned for the Mount Baker Highway on Monday, Oct. 5 and Tuesday, Oct. 6.

WSDOT crews will close the road between the Silver Fir Campground and the Heather Meadows center between 7:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. both days.

Recreationists hoping to get to Artist Point are advised to get up the mountain prior to the closure time.
