SKAGIT COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – More flooding is in the forecast for Skagit County this week.
Skagit County has issued a Level 2 – Get Set – evacuation notice for residents living within the 100-year floodplain.
The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch now through Thursday afternoon as heavy rains return to our region.
Forecasters say that streets, homes and farmland could flood once again.
The Skagit River is expected to crest twice near both of the National Weather Service’s sensors.
In Concrete, the river will likely reach its first crest above the major flood stage early tomorrow morning, then again on Wednesday afternoon.
Similar conditions are expected in Mount Vernon, with water levels forecast to go over the major flood stage tomorrow night before cresting again Thursday morning.
