BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Summer officially kicked off in Bellingham last weekend and now we are heading into the heart of festival season. Live music, mountain biking, Pride and a car show are all on the docket in this week’s Lifestyle Lookout.
The Northwest Tune-Up Bike and Music Festival runs Friday, July 10 through Sunday, July 12 on Bellingham’s waterfront. The weekend-long festival highlights Bellingham’s mountain biking culture, local and national music acts, and PNW community connection.
Tickets options include bike and music combos, music-only admission, bike demo-only passes and more. Attendees can take in mountain bike races on Galbraith, enjoy pump track competitions at Trackside, try out bikes and gear, or just relax and enjoy some great live music.
Headlining this year’s festival are Hippie Sabotage and Souls of Mischief.
Pride Bellingham is also this weekend in the City of Subdued Excitement. It kicks off on Friday with a Books and Brews event at Village Books. On Saturday, there will be a Pride Family Fun Day in Fairhaven and an all-ages Pride Dance at HUT.
Sunday features the Pride IN Bellingham Parade running from Bellingham High School to Depot Square where attendees can enjoy the Pride IN Bellingham Festival.
For all the gearheads out there, the Firecracker Car Show is on Sunday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Pioneer Park in Ferndale. All makes and models will be on display, including motorcycles. A $20 registration fee for car and motorcycle owners comes with a free NSRA inspection.
There will be shirts for sale, food vendors and more. Attendees are encouraged to bring nonperishable foods to donate to the Ferndale Food Bank. Attendance is free.

The Stringlights, True Stars and Cat Positive are playing a free show on Friday night at The Main St. Bar and Grill in Ferndale. Fans of Green Day, The Clash and White Stripes don’t want to miss this one.

On Saturday night, Duckwrth is coming to town for a performance at Wild Buffalo. Duckwrth’s music combines funk, rap, soul and pop into a gritty, raw and groovy sound that pushes the boundaries of the contemporary sonic zeitgeist.
