WHATCOM COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – This is the time of year when many folks are looking for new activities to stay busy, healthy and fulfilled. From mocktails to rock-climbing to record collecting and live music, we have you covered in this week’s Lifestyle Lookout.

Dry January is a popular new year’s activity in Whatcom County but sometimes it can be difficult to find a replacement for the booze. Thankfully, the good folks at Semiahmoo Resort and Spa in Blaine are offering a Dry January N/A Mixology Class this Saturday, Jan. 17 at 4 p.m.

This hands-on class in the Victoria Room will feature bartenders crafting delicious non-alcoholic mocktails full of flavor. Attendees will learn the techniques needed to impress friends and satiate even the most discerning palate.

To register for the N/A Mixology Class, go to semiahmoo.com.

Ski resorts in the Cascades are up and running and that means it’s time to learn how to tune up your gear. Backcountry Essentials (1417 N. State St.) in Bellingham is hosting three Ski Tuning Workshops through March 19.

Learn how to keep all your skis in top shape for the season. Just bring your skis and the rest of the materials will be provided. Ski Tuning Workshops are $20 per person. To register, visit the City of Bellingham’s website.

Right next door to Backcountry Essentials is Vital Climbing Gym (1421 N. State St.) This indoor rock-climbing gym offers climbing classes, rentals, yoga classes and more. Day passes are available for folks who want to test out their skills on the wall. Vital also offers memberships that give climbers 24/7 access to the gym.

For all the details, go to vitalclimbinggym.com.

If you’re looking for some new records, you are in luck. Aslan Depot is hosting the Black Noise Record Fair on Saturday from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Vinyl lovers can dig through crates of records while a DJ spins music during the event. The Black Noise Record Fair is free to attend. For all the details, go to aslanbrewing.com.
