BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Although we’ve had a wet and windy week in Whatcom County, this weekend’s weather outlook is getting more enticing the closer it gets.

Check out these events happening this weekend and make the most of it.

The 32nd annual Chuckanut 50k is taking place this Saturday, March 21, right here in Bellingham. This ultramarathon puts runners from around the world to the test as they traverse through the Chuckanuts rain or shine.

The ultramarathon also hosts a kids race each year, with that activity set to finish up right as the first finishers of the 50k cross the finish line.

True spring weather should be here any day now, and what better way to get in the spring spirit than to support local vendors at the Bellingham Farmer’s Market.

Before returning to its weekly schedule in April, the farmer’s market in downtown Bellingham runs from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. this Saturday, March 21. Current vendors include beekeepers serving up local honey, farms bringing fresh produce from Whatcom and Skagit County farmland, bakery’s and much more.

Speaking of downtown Bellingham, the newsroom at My Bellingham Now is giving you the chance to see movies for free thanks to the folks at the Pickford Film Center. Each week, we’re selecting one reader to bring a friend to a movie at the Pickford. To enter for your chance to win, click here or head to our contest page.
