FERNDALE, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Lane closures on I-5 in Whatcom County could cause some delays this week.

According to WSDOT, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 14 maintenance crews will close the right lane of southbound Interstate 5 in Ferndale between Portal Way and Main Street for pavement repairs.

The Portal Way on-ramp will also be closed with a signed detour in place.

On Thursday, Aug. 15, crews will close the southbound lane between Main Street and Smith Road during those same hours. Overnight lane closures will be in place south of Bellingham starting this weekend.

From 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 18 through Tuesday, Aug. 20, crews will close the right lane of southbound I-5 between Nulle Road and SR 11/Chuckanut Drive for construction on a fish passage project.

Pack your patience if you are driving through those areas and give crews plenty of room to work safely.
