BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A popular trail in south Bellingham is back open.

The city announced that part of the Interurban Trail that was closed for a fish passage project has reopened. The trail was closed for nearly eight months while crews replaced two culverts at Padden Creek.

My Bellingham Now previously reported that the project was disrupted when two fuel leaks from a faulty pump spilled over 600 gallons of diesel into the creek last August. The state Department of Ecology is investigating the spill to determine who will be responsible for the cleanup costs.

Trail users could see crews working on a few last fixes as the project nears a close.

The city is hosting a guided tour of the trail in late April.

Oscars preview: Producers tease ‘KPop Demon Hunters’ and ‘Sinners’ celebrations

That logic is why the only other nominated song that will get a moment on the broadcast is "I Lied to You," from "Sinners," a blockbuster hit and the most-nominated film of all time.
