Three people injured in incident at BP Cherry Point refinery

BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – An incident left three people injured at BP Cherry Point refinery in Whatcom County on Saturday, April 18.

A company spokesperson says in a statement that the injured persons were taken to the hospital. The extent of their injuries and their identities haven’t been released. All other personnel are safe and accounted for.

The initial statement doesn’t describe the nature of the incident, but the spokesperson expects to share more information soon.

He does say that the situation is contained and there is no danger to the public.
