BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – One person was hurt after a fire destroyed two Bellingham garages.

The Bellingham Fire Department said that the fire was reported in a detached garage on Walnut Street just before 1:30 Monday afternoon.

Flames spread to a home on the property as well as a neighbor’s garage by the time fire crews arrived.

No one was inside any of the structures at the time of the fire, but one person sustained minor injuries.

The fire department believes a wood burning stove in the detached garage sparked the blaze.

Both garages were destroyed, while the main residence sustained heavy fire damage.
