BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Fall is coming – as the weather has hinted – and ’tis the season for documentaries in Bellingham.

The Pickford Film Center has released this year’s Doctober line-up ahead of member ticket sales.

The month-long docfest kicks off with the West Coast premiere of Red Fever on Thursday, Oct. 3 following by a party at the Spark Museum. Red Fever, co-directed by Cree filmmaker Neil Diamond and Catherine Bainbridge, explores how Indigenous influence has permeated many parts of Western culture.

Other films showing throughout the month highlight unlikely stories in warzones, climate issues, grassroots organizing, fashion and the arts, true crime and more.

Doctober will end on Oct. 27 with a second showing of Borderland: The Line Within which aims to shed light on America’s immigration issues.

35 films will be screened at the Pickford’s Bay Street location during the month with many including Q-and-As from the filmmakers. Members can buy pre-sale tickets on Friday, Sept. 13, and tickets for non-members can be purchased the following Friday.
