DEMING, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A Deming man was killed in a weekend crash in Van Zandt.

Washington State Patrol (WSP) says the man was driving an off-road vehicle north on State Route 9 around noon on Saturday, May 2.  A car heading south crashed into him as he crossed into the southbound lane to turn into a driveway.

The man, identified as 73-year-old Robert Siguaw, was pronounced dead at the scene.  Crews transported the 16-year-old driver of the southbound car to PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center in Bellingham.

WSP’s preliminary investigation determined the accident was caused by a failure to yield right of way.  Drugs or alcohol were not factors in the crash.
