BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Drivers on Meridian Street in north Bellingham should expect delays starting next week.

Construction on the Tremont Lift Station project begins Wednesday, closing the outside northbound lane on Meridian Street between Van Wyck Road and Tremont Avenue from 5 a.m. to 3 p.m. until early November.

Drivers should also expect delays near the Meridian Street and Tremont Avenue intersection.

The project is expected to continue into spring 2027.

City officials say the sewer project includes a new pump station and sewer line that will connect to existing infrastructure and extend service to developing areas near Kline and Kelly roads.

The project is intended to support future growth in north Bellingham.
