WHATCOM COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Have you felt a chill in the air? Did you check your thermostat this week? Do you find yourself putting on layers of clothes and blankets every night when you sit down to relax or to go to sleep?

We’ve reached the time of year when the weather we’re experiencing may feel like a switch has been flipped. Some days are sunny and bright, others are dark and dreary. But overall, the nights are getting longer and colder, with wind advisories picking up the pace in frequency and velocity.

October is here, and with it come those cool fall nights. Drafts in your home may become more apparent at this time, bringing attention to air leaks and spots where you can feel the outside environment a little too much.

When you find yourself bundling up inside the house, it may be worth looking into whether your heating system is up to scratch. Thick sweaters and socks are not meant to be the only way to be comfortable while at home.

Consider comfort when you think about investment this fall and upgrade or change out your heating system to pass those forthcoming long nights with ease.

“Home comfort is a huge thing that we take for granted most days, and you can quickly notice when it is not quite right. If something is wrong with your system, or you have been getting through year after year of ‘I’ll do it next year,’ this might be the fall you want to tackle the issue that would help increase your home comfort, or simply get it back to where it needs to be!” Heating expert Phillip Dye said.

It’s better to get ahead of it by contacting your local heating expert because wait times for a consultation or an install may push you too far out for comfort, leaving you with a cold home longer than you want.

“Worrying about the comfort of our homes shouldn’t have to add to the stress of the fall, alongside kids returning to school, cold viruses spreading wild and the weather changing. Getting your home heating system either tuned up or replaced/upgraded as we enter into the fall and winter months is something we try to help keep at the front of people’s minds, that way something that could have been avoided doesn’t turn into a disaster or emergency,” Dye added. “We would love to share what your heating options might look like, ways to possibly upgrade and save money on your utility bills and increase the overall comfort in your home! Just think warm and cozy, and stress-free living.”

The longer you wait, the more those nights will sneak up on you. Change is in the air, and cold feet are not anything to get excited about.
