Compass Health expands youth mobile crisis program to Whatcom County

WHATCOM COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A major expansion is strengthening youth crisis response in Whatcom County.

Compass Health announced its expanding its YGo Youth Mobile Crisis Program, which sends trained clinicians and peer specialists directly to kids and teens facing behavioral health emergencies.

The teams respond in homes, schools, shelters and other community settings, offering immediate and in‑person support for youth under 20. They help stabilize the situation and work with families for up to eight weeks.

“YGo exists to show up for youth in moments of crisis and make sure they’re not facing those moments alone,” said Rick Deluga, program manager for the Southern YGo team. “Expanding our team and resources means we can get to families faster, provide thoughtful and effective care, and help stabilize situations before they escalate.”

YGo has already served more than 4,500 youth and families across the region. Compass Health says the expansion will boost local capacity to reach young people quickly and connect them to ongoing care before crises escalate.

Services are available at no cost and can be accessed by calling or texting 988.
