City limits public access at Boulevard Park as restoration continues

BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Public access to one of Bellingham’s most popular parks will be limited for the rest of the year.

The Bellingham Parks and Recreation Department says construction is now underway to restore two beach areas at Boulevard Park.

My Bellingham Now previously reported that the beaches will start near Woods Coffee and extend south towards the end of the boardwalk. The community will see reduced or no access to parking and other portions of the park, including the shoreline and some turf areas surrounding the coffee shop.

There will also be an alternate trail detour to the boardwalk that’s open to the public during most park hours.

Night work may take place during low-tide periods, so surrounding residents may hear truck traffic and construction noise during the evening and early morning.

The project is expected to last through the end of December, and some restoration work will continue through spring 2026.
