CHS Northwest announces sale of additional locations including Nooksack, Ferndale and Lynden

Editor’s Note: More information was added on 3/6/26 to clarify information provided by CHS Northwest and Eric Ellis.

LYNDEN, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A Lynden-based company is selling more of their locations in Whatcom County.

CHS Northwest announced on Thursday, March 5 that the company has filed a mini-Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) notice with the state ahead of three planned store closures.

CHS’s Convenience and Farm and Home stores in Nooksack, Ferndale and Lynden are part of the sale.

This marks the latest announcement of downsizing for the farm supply chain since the beginning of this year, when they announced a closure of their Lynden True Value brick-and-mortar. The Bellingham location closure was announced just weeks ago.

Senior Director of Operations Eric Ellis says that employees were notified about the plans for a sale of the businesses last November, with intention to find a buyer more focused on retail. He adds that each store that intends to close later this year has one of several buyers planned to take over each brick-and-mortar.

WARN notices must be filed at least 60 days prior to the planned closure date according to state and federal law.

CHS Northwest emphasizes that each store will continue to remain open.
